[2005] EWCA Civ 1302, 15 November 2005. Discussed the risks associated with acting in conflict with a former client. C, who had previously acted for a subsidiary company of Regent House (the third defendant), put in a higher offer than Regent House on another property. C then sued for defamation after Regent House complained that C had used confidential information. "Held": the original judgment in favour of C was overturned on the grounds that C had a conflict of interest in bidding against Regent House as he knew that it controlled the subsidiary and was therefore his real client.
