Suggests that although the relaxed drinking restrictions could result in increased revenue of £1bn a year, operational and maintenance costs are expected to rise substantially. Looks at the benchmark cost and inflation profile for components and elements used in constructing a public house and gives the inflation rate for a representative type of modern public house as just over 5% since November 2004.
