In the last 18 months there has been an increase in the number of criminal prosecutions that directly implicate facilities managers and other responsible for managing commercial premises. Facilities Managers working for a number of companies have all had charges of negligence against them. The article asserts the importance of compiling to UK law with regards to health and safety standards, in order to protect employees, contractors, business, shareholders and property. It also describes the regulation of the six steps of risk assessment.
