First of a three-part series examining the changes to the JCT suite of contracts. This article discusses the wording and content of the contracts. Supplements are now integrated within the contracts and statutory material has been removed. Some definitions have disappeared, whilst others have been introduced or changed. Collateral warranties are now included in all main contracts. Other changes affect the contractor's design submission procedure, and loss and expense and extension of time.
