38% of respondents to the FMB State of Trade Survey for the fourth quarter of 2005 reported that workloads had fallen in the last three months of the year, compared with 28% who reported a higher workload. The drop in workload was largest in repair, maintenance and improvement. FMB members continue to call for a reduction in VAT on home improvements, and express concern about the costs of complying with new or amended laws and regulations.
