Looks at the change in procurement practices over the past ten years. Case studies of integrated teams working in collaboration show that their work has fewer defects and accidents, and is completed in less time and cost. Construction partnering has also been encouraged by the government in PFI and other public-private sector arrangements. Examines some of the barriers to the introduction of new procurement processes, including the EU's Consolidated Directive which restricts framework agreements to four years.
