Looks at the preliminary results of the UK Photovoltaic Domestic Field Trial, which examined the buildability, operating performance, reliability and maintenance of domestic PV constructions. The results show that good communication and coordination between PV installers and other trades are vital, and that handover documentation must cover all key areas, particularly safety. A number of compliance issues are highlighted by the report, which also reveals that costs vary considerably between sites.
