Argues that the M and E sector has a key role to play in delivering the government's sustainability programme as it effects existing buildings. Many buildings have not been properly commissioned, leading to an imbalance in the air and water systems, making them both expensive to heat and cool, and uncomfortable to work in. Minor changes to heating, ventilation and power systems will reduce fuel usage and energy costs.
