Explains how the Freedom of Information Act 2000 can be used in connection with construction disputes, by obtaining early disclosure of information from the opposing side, or relevant documentation from a public authority which is not involved in the dispute. This may be particularly useful in adjudication proceedings, where there is generally no obligation on a party to disclose relevant documents. Warns that there are a number of exemptions which can be claimed, and that there is no quick way to challenge a refusal to supply documentation.
