In the USA, a new breed of lifestyle shopping centres isemerging aimed at dispelling retail fatigue. They claim to combine a number of elements from traditional retail environments with new urbanism in an open-air shopping centre, promising to offer a range of speciality small retailers, a greater focus on clothes and various entertainment facilities and services.
