Following changes to the civil procedure rules, it is now mandatory for certain information to be supplied to the court before proceedings for recovery of a debt can be issued. The information required includes the postcode of the defendant, their full and trading names, whether they trade as a company, partnership, consumer or sole trader, and the title of individual parties. Certainty in the contractual relationship and full information about the contracting parties are now more important than ever.
