Orders in the year to March 2006 rose by 8% compared with the previous twelve months. Although orders in the first quarter of 2006 rose by 6% compared to the same period in 2005, they fell by 1% compared to the previous three month period, reflecting decreases in all sectors except private commercial and public non-housing orders.
