Birkby, Gillian
Pot black - 2006 - Building 271(8430) 12 May 2006, 60(1) .
Discusses the implications for designers of the increasing use of Design Quality Indicators, which allow the basic needs of a building project to be assessed by the stakeholders, using a range of criteria, from ease of maintenance to access, with the aim of increasing client and user satisfaction. DQI's can provide designers with clearer briefs and a reduced risk of design changes, and improve client satisfaction with the design; however, if the designer fails to meet the priorities identified, it may increase his liability.
