The UK is increasing ICT healthcare capabilities - 2006 - Architects' Journal 19(223) 18 May 2006, 41-43(3) .

Looks at the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in the healthcare sector in both the UK and the USA from the viewpoint of the architect. Healthcare building design is driven by the availability and sophistication of services and facilities rather than capital costs. The complexities of the sector mean that the architect has to be kept informed prior to and throughout the design process. An understanding of how the technology will be used and housed, and how it will interface with other technology, is also crucial during the design process.
