UK construction industry needs 348 000 new recruits by 2010

348 000 additional workers will be required by the construction industry by 2010 to meet anticipated demand. Of these, almost 50% will be managerial and technical professionals, including architects, engineers and surveyors. Construction growth is expected to shift from the north to the south and east, with the public house building sector showing the strongest growth.
