Argues that sustainability has moved to the top of the agenda in the construction industry, driven by a number of factors, including legislation and regulation, PFI, and client expectations. In response, developers and contractors are embracing the concept of corporate social responsibility, putting strong emphasis on supply chain management, including the drawing up of environmental management systems by subcontractors and better waste management.
