Over 20 bids representing more than 50 local authorities have been submitted in response to the government sustainable growth initiative, New Growth Points. These local authorities are keen to pursue sustainable growth within their wider strategies for economic growth. If all the bids are realised an extra 8-10 000 homes per year could be secured, 80 000 in total by 2016. Lists the applicants.
