Concurrent delay occurs where a contractor's delays either partially or wholly take place concurrently with delays by the employer. This article examines the various approaches adopted by English common law and Italian civil law to concurrent delay. Considers the capabilities and limits of the critical path method, classification of delays, and the delay and disruption protocol of the Society of Construction Law.
