Government receives backing for delaying tenancy deposit protection introduction

The launch date of the tenancy deposit protection scheme has been postponed from October 2006 to 6 April 2007. This gives government time to deal with concerns raised by key stakeholders over the release of deposits where there are rent arrears and abandonment of tenancies and more time to inform stakeholders about tenancy deposit protection.
