Argues that the construction industry now makes a much more empirical assessment of the risks involved in construction projects than it did previously. For instance, NEC3 makes the risk register into a contractual document, whilst other projects use short, focussed risk registers for each package or trade contract as management tools. A more sophisticated analysis of risk is still required in procurement, however, where too many contracts continue to pass risk down to the contractor.
