A new Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment, intended for 14-19 year olds, is due to be introduced in 2008. The diploma will combine the essential skills knowledge and work based learning experiences required by young people to enable them to progress either in the workplace or in further and higher education. The diploma will be introduced alongside GCSE's and A-levels, and offer students the opportunity of an education that meets their career and subject interests.
