Reports on the new Single Point Project (Financial Loss) Insurance (SPPI) scheme which has now been endorsed by the Public Sector Construction Clients Forum. SPPI covers the entire construction delivery team, from the client, consultant and contractors to the sub-contractors, for financial loss incurred on a project. It is anticipated that the scheme will drive down the cost of premiums and encourage greater integration. Although most insurers are supportive of the scheme, others, together with some lawyers and bankers, are more cautious.
