Describes the successful revamping of the Newcastle Playhouse, completed by Sir William Whitfield in 1970. The project which was 50/50 demolition and new build was carried out by the Arts Team, a subsidiary of RHWL, with a modest budget of £1 573 per sq m. Plans and costings.
