Examines research carried out by the Health and Safety Executive at AMEC to establish whether partnering affects safety performance. It was found that the collaboration and integration produced by long-term partnering agreements created a positive approach that lead to improved performance. On projects, induction and safety training were emphasised and technology was used as a way of removing hazards.
