Expresses RICS support for the proposed introduction of City Development Corporations(CDCs) especially if they replicate the success of the early Development Corporations such as the Central Manchester Development Corporation of the early 1990s. Recommends that CDCs are given streamlined powers of land assembly and planning and are supported by adequate funding streams and proposes that safeguards are put in place to ensure that any relocation of local authorities and Regional Development Agency activities due to introduction of CDCs are kept to a minimum.
