The Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Bill 2006 has been published by the Department for Constitutional Affairs which, if enacted, will abolish the old rules permitting landlords of commercial premises to distrain for arrears of rent. A new procedure to seize goods is being introduced, but is more limited in scope.
