Debates in detail the role of the client under the new Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007. Whilst the HSC/HSE claim the new Regulations simply clarify client's duties, others argue that they redefine the duties with clients facing much more responsibility managing health and safety throughout the duration of a construction project. Explains what clients must do/need not do under the new Regulations and discusses whether this is reasonable. Also looks at judging competence under the accompanying Approved Code of Practice.
