Describes the main changes to the fire safety aspects of the Building Regulations which come into effect this April and considers the views of the main stakeholders. The changes will affect future building work such as erection, extension or material alteration of a building and the way that fire safety measures are incorporated into such changes. The UK government is convinced that the changes will minimise the risk of fire spread and facilitate both the safe evacuation of a building?s occupants and safe access for firefighters.
