New projections of households for England and the regions to 2029 [electronic resource]

The projections report: higher average annual household growth, particularly in the north; a projected increase from 21.1 million in 2004 to 26 million in 2026; one person households account for 155 000 of the 223 000 annual growth to 2026; cohabiting couples account for 65 000 of the annual increase; 131 000 of the 223 000 annual household growth is due to adult population growth; and 33% of household growth to 2026 is due to net migration into England.
