Brighton offers a good deal of office space, but over 90% of it is considered of poor quality. Delays with the Croydon Gateway Scheme are affecting development, so the town is missing opportunities for regeneration. Plans to regenerate Crawley are aimed at its retail-centred Boulevard and a residential scheme. It suffers from a lack of office space, while the industrial sector is eyeing both new-builds and changes of use. The Surrey office market is recovering from the IT slump four years ago. Walton-on-Thames and Camberley are looking forward to new retails centres after long delays. Hastings is promised new work and leisure areas.
