Half of women encounter discrimination at work [electronic resource]

A survey by design and engineering consultancy, Atkins, reveals that 54% of women in Britain have experienced gender inequality in the workplace. In the construction and engineering sector, one fifth of women feel they are unable to reach middle management positions and half feel they cannot achieve senior management positions. In addition, if more women were working in architecture, engineering and construction, 52% of all women surveyed said they would contemplate a career in this field.
