In the quarter to June 2007, there were around 42 600 new house building starts in England, down by 10% compared with the same quarter in 2006, and 43 800 completions, up by 1%. During the 12 months to the end of June 2007, housing starts in England were down 8% when compared to the previous 12 months, and completions were up 2%.
