Proposes a simplified approach for progressive collapse assessment of multi-storey building structures subject to sudden column loss, which offers a quantitative framework for the consideration of such important issues as ductility, redundancy and energy absorption. The proposed approach can be directly applied in design practice, and it enables the quantification of structural robustness for sudden column loss scenarios. References.
