In the year to the second quarter of 2007, the total volume of construction output increased by 3% compared to the previous year. In the second quarter of 2007, output increased by 1% compared to the previous quarter in volume terms and in current prices. In the year to the second quarter of 2007, the total volume of new work was 6% higher compared to the previous year, and 3% higher in the second quarter of 2007 when compared with the previous quarter. The number of employees in employment (seasonally adjusted) in July 2007 was down 1% compared with April 2007, but up 1% compared with July 2006.
