Explains the changes to the revised Pre-Action Protocol for the Construction and Engineering Disputes, which came into force 6 April 2007, and discusses whether these changes have tackled some of the concerns over the effectiveness and use of the Protocol. While the amendments have quickened the process for the issue of a response and the holding of a pre-action meeting, the question of the recoverability of costs has not been directly addressed.
