The town's international services are being reduced, coinciding with the opening of the new international service from St Pancras. The town's 25-year redevelopment plan is under threat in its current form. Housebuilding rates were already falling short of targets. However, faster mainline services to London have been provided. Growth in Ashford will continue, but at a slower rate than had been planned.
