Presents findings from a study which took three case studies to determine if there are commercial drawbacks to mixed-use, green housing rather than standard housing. Finds that properties that show sustainable features such as walkable neighbourhoods and appropriate densities have a higher value than standard housing. Discusses the barriers to sustainable urbanism and how this might be achieved. Concludes the industry is facing a challenge to add value by non-traditional means.
