Outlines recent cases where accidents which have befallen members of the public on others' land have not resulted in compensation payable by landowners. A parish council which had filled in a hole it dug on a village green was not held responsible for injury caused by subsequent accidental uncovering of the hole. A tenant who suffered injuries as a result of dancing on her landlord's garage roof was not awarded damages as her actions were held to be trespass.
