Finds that a record balance of house builders reported a decline in the number of site visitors as compared against 12 months previous. Net reservations also fell significantly, though there were signs of stabilisation in the rate of decline. Visitors and reservations fell significantly from September's figures. Buyer demand fell among existing home owners, first-time buyers and buy-to-let investors. The net level of new home prices fell, and house builders made far greater use of sales incentives. There is optimism that new homes sales will be higher in 2008 than in 2007.
