The government has postponed introduction of Energy Performance Certificates for new-build housing until April 2008. Recommends that the industry uses the time to prepare for their introduction. Provides an overview of SAP assessment methodology, which will form the basis for EPCs. Argues that EPCs provide an opportunity to demonstrate and promote the fact that new homes are more energy efficient than the existing housing stock.
