Hartman, Hattie
Beyond the code - 2008 - Architects' Journal 227(4) 31 January 2008, 40-41(2) .
Looks at the RuralZED house, a zero-carbon housing prototype that claims to meet the non-existent level seven of the Code for Sustainable Homes. RuralZED goes beyond code level six because the addition of a wind turbine means that the embodied energy in the materials and construction of the structure can be offset within three years. Briefly outlines the other energy saving features of the RuralZED house.
