Looks at the challenges posed by the UK's renewable energy target recently set by the EU (that 15% of total UK energy should come from renewable sources by 2020). Most of the UK's renewable energy will come from off-shore wind farms, and 10 000 turbines will need to be built over the next 12 years. The main obstacles to meeting the targets will be supplying enough turbines and the subsequent construction challenges.
