Discusses changes to the planning system which will create a faster, more efficient system. Currently, under the Planning Act 2006, all planning appeals are referred to the Scottish Government for determination. However, appeals against decisions taken by planning officers for small-scale, local developments will be heard by local review bodies comprising councillors.
