Nearly a year on since the introduction of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007, this article considers if the Regulations have started to improve health and safety in the construction industry. Discusses three areas in which the revised Regulations could make a difference; procurement, focus on the management of risk, and corporate competence. Explains these areas in more detail and concludes that the HSE should be closely monitoring the impact of the Regulations.
