Dense matters
Hedley, Chris
Dense matters - 2008 - Property Week 73(11) 14 March 2008, 75(1) .
Investigates how occupiers are looking to increase office floorspace density. Looks at the links between floorspace and workstation density and desk utilisation. The difficulties of increasing desk utilisation above 40-50% have prompted occupiers to reassess the use of space, with many organisations aiming for 1.2 to 1.5 people per desk. Using space across a range of activities is another likely development. This will mean a change in approach to measuring floorspace density, with data being collected on building users and building user hours. Graphs.
