An end to the waiting game for planning decisions [electronic resource] - 2008 - DCLG News Release 25 March 2008 .

Announces a review of the planning system aimed at reducing delays caused by bureaucracy. Despite increases in the system's efficiency the government believes there is still unnecessary paperwork. Delays commonly experienced after planning permission has been granted are also being targeted for reduction. Recommends that councils should make better use of technologies such as the internet. A review paper will be published to make procedural recommendations. Also announces that Planning Aid funding is to be doubled this year to £3.2m.
