Discusses implications of the recent landmark case, "Southern Glass Services v Barratt Homes Southampton" (2008, unreported), in which an adjudicator ruled that Barratt had 'improperly withheld' cash in discounts that it had deducted but was not entitled to. Suggests that this decision could entitle other subcontractors to recover discounts and other illegal deductions. Provides advice for subcontractors to prevent them losing money in a similar way to Southern Glass.
