Explains how Walsall Borough Council is combating subsidence by infil ling Littleton Street mine , a disused limestone mine , a quarter of a mile from the town centre. The mine is being infilled with rockpaste - a mixture of colliery spoil, pulverised fuel ash , lime and water. Looks at problems the council has encountered and describes the use of ultrasonic surveying equipment in monitoring the mine.
