Reports details of one of the largest ever Competition Act investigations. The Office of Fair Trading claims that the construction companies concerned have engaged in bid rigging. Cover pricing is alleged, where companies have deliberately tendered high bids in order to secure a lower bid for another firm. It is also alleged that a small number of the firms have made compensation payments in such cases. The 112 firms under suspicion are listed.
