Considers the extent to which lessons learned in the London market can be applied to Hong Kong. Looks at various design considerations used when drawing up urban renewal strategies. Finds a number of considerations which could contribute towards economic, environmental and social sustainability. However distinctive features of cities do have an impact on the perception of design professionals. Some research is based upon a questionnaire sent to professionals in both countries.
